Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect the information in relation to our website www.zero-to.one.com. This information is collected when you visit our website via your computer, smartphone or tablet and is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”). The statement might change because of changes in the law. We, therefore, suggest that you check up on this statement frequently. The privacy policy also describes the rights you have regarding your personal data. The information that we collect
The information that you provide:
Zero to One is a B2B company that provides facilitation and acceleration services to startups and scaleups. We help you get a startup permit and set up your business in the Netherlands. We also help you further develop your business. We collect the following information when you contact us or sign up for an event via the website:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Communication between you and Zero to One (we might send you service-related emails ).
You might provide us with your business plan and add other sensitive data, which is a way for us to get to know you early on in this process but it does add more risks to privacy. Additionally, you provide us with information that the government needs for your startup visa application. Such information includes bank statements, passport copy, family members identification documents (if applicable) and proof of the innovative character of your product/service. For the startup visa you also have to do a TB test, which is a medical test for tuberculosis.
On-site browsing:
We use third-party analytics tools to measure traffic on our website and improve the user experience. These tools provide information regarding browsing behavior (pages visited, session duration, etc.), the visitor’s IP address. These third-parties use “cookies” or, in other words, text files that are placed on your device for collecting your log and behavior information in an anonymous form. The information from every user is combined in a way that no particular individual user can be identified. The primary tool we use is Google Analytics and Google Optimize. Even though it plants a permanent cookie on your web browser for identification, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google will process (collecting, recording, organizing, structuring, storing, altering, retrieving, using, disclosing, combining, erasing and destroying) Customer Personal Data for the purpose of providing the Processor Services and any related technical support to Customer in accordance with these Data Processing Terms. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy and we will never send your data to third parties without your approval and consent. Spam detection:
In addition to the tools aimed at understanding and improving the user experience on the website, we also use a Google reCAPTCHA to detect spam and filter bots from the website. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Embedded content from other websites:
Articles on our website may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How this information is shared
We do not share your personal information with third parties outside Zero to One.
For how long do we retain your information
For some activity, metadata can be retained. These data can be retained indefinitely. For users that contact us via the website, we also store the personal information they provide during our communication. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Wel keep your email address and name throughout the whole communication process. In case you become a client of Zero to One, this information is kept for the duration of the facilitation agreement (one year) with us and for a year after the agreement has ended, just to be able to keep up with you and how your company is doing. We will keep your business plan for the same amount of time as the rest of your information. We will keep the TB test results until we have news from the government regarding your visa. The test result records are removed from the system immediately after a decision from the government is received. Zero to one does not retain data any longer than is required for attaining the purposes for which they were collected. You can always request your information to be deleted by sending us an email via the Contact form.
How do we store and protect your information
Private information is handled and stored via our Customer Relationship System. Once received by us, we use strict procedures to ensure that it is stored securely in our system. More specifically, we encrypt much of that information using SSL, we regularly review our storage, collection, and processing practices and restrict the access to client information to Zero to One team members only. Aggregate user data from the website is retained by Google Analytics and deleted at the end of the retention period (between 2 and 14 months). Since the transmission of information via the Internet always involves some risk, we cannot assure that, although we will do our best to protect your personal information, your information is absolutely secure. Any transmission is at your own risk. Aggregate user data from the website is stored by Google Analytics and handled according to Google’s data handling policies.
Your rights regarding your personal data
Right to access:
You have the all-time right to ask us which data we have collected from you and what we do with it. We will send you a full list, including which data we have, who we share it with, and how we use it.
Right to rectification:
You have the right to rectify your data. If you find that your data is incorrect, just let us know and we will correct it. You can also use this right if your information has changed because of an email change or a change of address.
Right to be forgotten (right to be erased):
We collect data for a specific purpose. When a piece of data is no longer needed for this purpose we will delete or anonymize it. If you no longer agree with a specific use with your data we will also have to delete it.
Right to the restriction of processing:
We have described the purposes for which we need and use your data. We are not allowed and, therefore, will not use your data outside of these purposes.
Right to data portability:
You have the right to ask us to transfer your data to a new controller (person/business that collects some of your data) and we will send a file (in a commonly used, machine-readable form) either to you or to the new controller of your choice.
Right to object:
You have the right to, at any point, object to a specific use for your data. We will then have to prove that we have a legitimate reason for this processing of your data.
Our obligations regarding your privacy
We will process your data on the grounds of a contract or legal agreement. We won’t sell your data to third parties. All the data we ask from you is the minimally required data we need to provide our services.
